Privacy Policy
play.sergeant.com is a private game site for friends, run by Dave Sergeant. This page says what it keeps about you and why.
Discord sign-in
You sign in with Discord. The site asks Discord for two permissions, identify and guilds.members.read, and uses them to read your Discord user id, your username, your nickname in the Dill Hole server, and whether you're a member of Dill Hole. It doesn't read your email, your messages or your other servers. The access Discord grants is used once at sign-in and then thrown away.
The session cookie
After you sign in, the site sets one cookie that holds your Discord user id and display name, signed so it can't be altered. It keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. There are no ads, trackers or analytics.
Match recordings
The game records the game state of matches with two or more players, so matches can be replayed, unless someone in the match said No. A recording holds the game itself (moves, shots, results) and the players' Discord ids and names. Solo play isn't recorded.
Voice isn't recorded by this site. If the group records voice, that's done separately in Discord by the Craig bot.
What's kept, and where
Recordings and the site's logs are kept on Dave's own server and copied to his NAS at home. Nobody else gets them: they're not sold, shared or handed to anyone outside the group.
Deleting your data
To have your recordings or anything else about you deleted, ask Dave in the Dill Hole Discord.
